6 Super Healthy Snacks For Weight Loss (#5 Is By Far My Favourite Food EVER!)

Healthy Snacks For Weight LossSnacks have a bad reputation for being fatty, high in salt/sugar, highly processed, and, in general, unhealthy.

Which means you’ve probably come to the conclusion that in order to lose weight, the snacks need to go.

And, yes, in a way you are correct.

Bad snacks; the ones full of calories, trans fats, sugar, and other nasty stuff definitely need to go.

But there are good snacks out there, and they shouldn’t be discarded along with the bad ones.

In fact, if you only snacked on healthy foods, it would actually help you to lose weight.

So without wasting any more time, here are my

Top 6 Super Healthy Snacks For Weight Loss:

1. The Banana

Man oh man do I love me a nice banana.

Packed full of goodness, and delicious too, bananas are probably one of the best healthy snacks for weight loss.

Seriously, forget an apple a day, it’s a banana a day that keeps the doctor away.

Just try not to go overboard or you’ll turn yellow.

2. Trail Mix

Depending on what you consider to be trail mix, this snack has the potential to be either really, really good, or really, really bad.

I’ll explain.

Some trail mix is sold as just nuts and seeds, while other trail mix contains chocolate, and even candy.

If you want your trail mix to be as healthy as possible, make sure that it’s only made up up of nuts, seeds, and dried fruits.

Perfect to nibble on while you’re reading a book or watching TV.

3. Tuna

This one is going to divide everyone, because you either love or hate tuna.

If you hate tuna, forget about it, and find something else on this list.

For the rest of us, we can chow down on some yummy tuna and enjoy all of the health benefits.

Not to mention tuna is very low in calories, with the average tin coming in at around 100 calories per 100g.

4. Water

Like most of my other posts about healthy weight loss food, I’m including water here because chances are you’re not actually hungry.

You might just be thirsty.

This is why I take a water bottle with me wherever I go, and I’m constantly sipping from it.

It helps to reduce your appetite, as well as making it easy to hit the recommended amount of water per day.

5. Eggs

If you’ve read any of the other articles in the “healthy foods for weight loss” series on Burning Fitness, you’d know that I love my eggs.

LOVE them.

So it’s really no surprise that I’ve put them in this list, too.

If you’re on the fence about eggs, just give them a shot, and you won’t regret it.

Delicious, nutritious, and basically a super-food, they’ll help you lose weight for sure.

6. A Sandwich

This goes against one of the key paleo rules of “no grains”, but I just couldn’t resist.

If it’s done right, a healthy sandwich can be the best snack you’ll eat all day.

Ham and cheese? Nah.

Chicken and mayo? Getting better.

Tuna and salad? Ding ding ding, we have a winner.

Not really my cup of tea (the tuna and salad sandwich), but it’s pretty low in calories and high in nutritional value, so it’s a winner in my books.

So there you have it, my top 6 healthy snacks for weight loss.

What do you think of this list?

Think there are healthier snacks out there that I neglected to mention?
